RUGBY.
THE GAME IN WAIKATO. SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE. (by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCI ATION ) HAMILTON, April 23. An amicable settlement in the dispute between the Waikato Rugby Union and the Hamilton Sub-union is probable. The latter had advised that it would not affiliate until a conference was held to consider matters relative to the two bodies, and has now been invited to send a deputation to the Waikato Union. The conference will probably be held. A movement to inaugurate a system of football competitions similar to those in operation in Taranaki is being made in the Waikato, and a committee is to be appointed to investigate the possibilities.
