SYDNEY, April 22. To-day is the coldest, April day ever recorded in Sydney. The maximum temperature was 58 degrees. . The first batch of the Riverina’s passengers have arrived, little the worse lor their alarming experiences. Further efforts to refloat the Kiverina have been futile.
BRISBANE, April 22. Idie man who shot Mrs. McVin.ish is a labourer named Edward Stanley Moran. The daughter of the dead woman states that her mother recently removed from a new farm to the city in order to escape his attentions. No details are available.
LONDON, April 21. The “Daily Mail’s Boulogne correspondent says that a message reading : “I murdered Miss Daniels, but you will never get- me,” and signed “B. B. B. Waster,” written in a male hand on a torn postcard, has been received by, Inspector de Ruelle, who is investigating the case. M. de Ruelle expressed the opinion that the message is not a hoax. He has communicated with the polite at Nice, where the communication was posted.
