In spite of idl)pessimistic talk, trade depression, financial stringency, and other gloomy savings, the Feilding Borough is in the happy position oi having closed its financial year with only seven defaulting ratepayers on the books. There are approximately 1200 ratepayers in the borough, so that the position speaks volumes for the stability of the town. Furthermore, . there are no arrears of any kind on account of previous years—ia. highly satisfactory state of affairs, says an exchange, ami one which demonstrates the efficient manner in which the borough has been managed.
