Two draught horses, valued at about GO guineas each, were burnt to death!, and a quantity of baled straw and some harness destroyed as the result of a fire which broke out shortly before noon on Monday in the old Corporation Stables on'Clyde Quay, Wellington. A Wellington paper says that, aided by the heavy northerly wind, the flames, which originated in a room at one end used for storing brooms and buckets, soon took complete charge, and the fire brigade, which arrived promptly on the scene, were given a difficult task to suppress the outbreak. The chief stableman, Mr .Tohn Single, left the stable at 11.20, and had watered a number of horses in the new stables, when he noticed flames issuing from the old wooden buildings. With great difficulty, owing to the proximity of the blaze, he managed to get live of the seven horses in the stables out into the yard, but the remaining two were caught by the flames and burnt to death. The building was severely damaged. INHALATION THE LOGICAL WAY. Colds, coughs, sore throats, ’flu, bronchitis and asthma are diseases of the respiratory passages. Surely the logical remedy is inhalation of medicinal vapours. That’s how Pulmonas work—they relieve by inhalation. Sucking releases the healing vapours which do the good work.
