ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE TO-MORROW

(FRIDAY) EVENING. "The Campbell Boys,” two versatile entertainers direct from a triumphant tour of South Africa, will make a welcome reappearance in Hawera at the Opera House to-morrow. They will present the latest musical novelties in a manner which should please everybody. You will love their singing and the wonderful performance the give on the French Ocarina. They dance while they play, too, and are joyously amusing. The pictorial section of the programme will be of high order. The feature picture, "The Show Off,” is a Paramount comedy, starring Ford Sterling. Ford Sterling is the gusty, bluffing "kid” who knows everything, butts in everything, and, through sheer hide, makes good in the end. Box plan now open at Miss Blake’s, dial 2713. There will be a special matinee for the children on Saturday, commencing at 2 p.m. OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. FINAL SCREENING. "THE RETURN OF PETER GRIMM” An unusual motion picture came to the Opera House last night. It was "The Return of Peter Grimm.” It scored a big hit. Janet Gaynor, who is making rapid strides toward the pinnacle with each picture in which she appears, scores heavily in the role of the kindly Peter Grimm’s ward. Miss Gaynor brings to' the screen a wholesomcness and delicacy that is refreshing. Coupled with this, she is'a great actress. It is almost inconceivable that one so young has such a grasp on dramatic technique as has this beautiful little Fox Films star. The programme will be finally screened this evening. "BRAN' PIE” AT NORMANBY. The entertainment to be presented by the Normanby Tennis Club on Friday, May G, will take the form of a. musical revue, entitled "Bran Pie.” The production will be given by a company of twenty-one members in costume. A performance along lines entirely new to local entertainments is promised. The object in view is the raising of funds to improve the local tennis courts.
