LAST SEMI-FINAL, Thus morning, saw the completion of the- final elimination and the disclosure of the finalists-, in tit© South Taranaki tourney, which Grant (Quin) beaL Spurdle, land Paterson beat Skoglund. Both were interesting contests, especially the -hitter. Skoglund, whoso men were playing hardly so well as usual, was behind until the nineteenth, head. They then got a useful five and Jed by one point. Paterson replied with a two on the twentieth, once more assuming the lead, and then a single to Skoglund made them level at the twenty-first. An extra heiad was played and when the skips went back Paterson lay one. Skoglund tried a drive,.and cutting out his bowl, made victory certain for Rhterson—2l to 20.

Grant and Spurdle, m a lower scoring match, were level (6' all) at the ninth head, and again (8 all) at the thirteenth. The Jorme.r then went ahead steadily and at the twentieth had a lead of five. The twenty-first ended the match: Grant (Quin) 20 v. Spurdle 11.

THE FINAL. Grant (two lives) plays Paterson (one life) in the final. The latter to win will have to> beat iiis opponent twice, but a win to Grant will give him the match and the* championship.
