Melbourne Cricket Club began its match against Otago at Carisbrook this afternoon in fine weather. W. W. Armstrong, who is suffering from an injured l leg, and K. Campbell, stood down from the visiting side. Otago batted first on a first-class wicket, but made a poor stand, being dismissed for 127. The visitors liave lost one wicket for .84.
