GENERAL BUSINESS TRANSACTED

AUCKLAND, March 10.

The New Zealand Methodist Conference made the 10110 wmg appointments, on the. recommendation of thei College Bound, through the Rev. Dr. Laws: — Residential professor, Rev. Dr. Ranston; secretary of tlie College Board, Rev. -Mr'B'ight. Dr. Laws stated that approximately £44,000 had been given or promised for the new theological college fund. It was resolved that the expenditure in the Solomon Islands be limited to £14,500. exclusive of the amount voted for the equipment fund for buildings. The Rev. Mr Sinclair and the Rev. E. P. Til ami res were re-appointed editors of the missionary publications. The former was re-appointed general secretary of foreran missions. Messrs ‘Marshall and Court were re-appointed general treasurers of th* mission. The Hon. AV. Nosworthy wrote to the Rev. Mr DoFey asking for the name of the lad whom Mr Dolley stated had received .shocking treatment on a North Auckland farm. Mr Dolley says he did not complain of the boy’s work, but of his living conditions. “I have the bov all Tight,” he added, “hut what chance would he have of getting work in another place if his identity were disclosed.”
