INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF TRADES UNIONS. RETRENCHMENT TO BE CONSIDERED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT AMSTERDAM, March 9. The International Federation of Trades Unions is considering an extensive retrenchment policy, including the removal to a cheaper centre, owing to the membership having fallen to fifteen millions, compared with twenty-four millions. This reduction is attributed to Fascism wiping out unions in Italy, a big decline in Britain, France and Germany due to unemployment, and Communist dissensions in France.
