ON THE WEST COAST. DISAPPOINTMENT AT ABSENCE OF DUCHESS (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION GLENIIOPE, March 19. The Ducal tour on the West Coast will be shorn of a great deal of its interest through the absence of the Duchess, owing to her indisposition. Further bulletins will be issued from Nelson. Tbe Duke left Nelsou punctually and motored to the Royal train. The news about the Duchess had not become generally known and people seemed surprised at her absence. One hoard in passing many remarks such as “ Where is the Duchess?” “The Duchess is not there.” Naturally there was great disappointment. After the rain in the niglit the weather has cleared and there is a hot sun. After ten minutes at Glenhope. the Duke left for Murchison on the Bailor gorge trip to Westport. DUCHESS OP YORK. LATEST BULLETIN. NELSON, March 10. It is officially announced that it is hoped very much that the Duchess of York wilf be well enough to go on hoard the Renown to-morrow. If fit to travel she will proceed to Christchurch, where she will rejoin the Duke in fhe hopes of fulfilling most of the Christchurch engagements. _ The attack of tonsilitis is r only a slight one, but it is not known yet how it is progressing.
