LADY CHAMPION SWIMMERS
NEW ZEALAND’S PREMIERS. COMING TO HAWERA. The Hawera baths will be the scene of unusual .interest on Thursday evening next, when the appearance of Miss Ena Stockley, of Auckland, .and Miss Kathleen Miller, of Dunedin—the sprint and distance lady champions or New Zealand —will form the principal features in an attractive programme being arranged by' the Hawera Amateur Swimming Club. At the last New Zealand riiampionsliips Miss Stockley proved the New Zealand lady champion over the yards course for the third: year in isuecessoin, and Miss Miller annexed the ladies’ 220 yards and 440 J.ards titles from the:. Auckland- swimmer, Miss I iri p a ay, who in the previous year won both the New Zealand and tlie Aufna--1 ia,n championships for those- distances, and was second to Miss Stooxley- in the Australian 100 yards cliampionSh Miss Stockley and Mis® Miller are at present making a tour of the Dominion, under the direction of the New Zealand Swimmin-o- Association, -and their -appearance'at Hawera should prove one of the, greatest drawing cards in the swimming history of the district.
