. ♦ LOCAL STOCK SAFES. The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd., reports as under: — At Hawera on Thursday we report a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. There, was a large attendance of buyers, and we report a total, clearance under the hammer at satisfactory prices. Quotations. —Two-tooth ewes, 23s to 255; four and five-year ewes, to 18s 6d; S.M. ewes, 17s sd; f.m. ewes, 14s to 15s; aged ewes 7s fid, 10s Id to: 12s; two and four-tooth wethers, 20s; six and eight-tooth wethers, 20s 6d; cull lambs, Tls 2d, 11s 6d, 12s 7d; medium lambs, 13s 3d; fat iambs, 245; S.D. rams, 3J-; to 5i guineas. . . ' Cattle. —Prices were on. a par with previous sales. We quote, fat cows £4 10s to £6 17s 6d; store cows, £3 5s to £3 15s; works cows, 35s to £2 15s; weaner heifers, 30s to £3 12s (good). ■ Pigs.—Pigs were not yarded in such large numbers as previous .sales, owing to the we’eome rain which has recently been experienced. Bidding was brisk, and total clearance was effected at ruling prices.
