STATE LOTTERIES
TO FINANCE HOSPITALS. NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME. COMPULSORY CONTRIB UTKINS. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received 11.40 a.m. to-day. SYDNEY, March 4. The State Ministry has. agreed on a scheme for financing hospitals. It is proposed to give the Government power in a Hospital Bill to- conduct lotteries. These will proba-bly be on the lines, of a -scheme now being operated by the Queensland Government. Further provision will be made by industrial contributions towards the upkeep of hospitals, employees taxing themselves by allowing a deduction from their weeklywages. The Bill will make it compulsory for employers and employees to contribute to the financing of institutions. It will be introduced in the Assembly next week.
