Madame Efllen Vera Maxwell proceeded- against- Isabel Wilson, before •Mr. 'Riddell, S.M.. to-day, to .recover a, ling valued at £3O or £4O. The defendant was runner-up in a. recent beapty contest -and the- -ring w.'a.s lent, ax tlie time, of the -contest. Miss Wilson :is the Wellington choice in a film star contest -and a.s she proceeds to Auckland to- take: part in the final, her counsel applied for a fortnight’s adjournment. The matter in dispute is the value of. the ring, which wa.SHsta.ted to luivc -been lost. The adjournment was granted, Air. Riddell .stating that Miss Wilson could be stopped -if she tried to- leave New Zealand, this being in event- of -her being chosen to proceed to Australia.
