A great deal of feeling was stirred when Wishel was found guilty, and a petition, signed by all the city’s school children, induced the judge to reduce the sentence from two to one year. •The case, which involved the chief of police, who was also found guilty and sentenced to a similar term, has divided the city into two _ camps, Women declaring that they will petition the Governor to unseat the Mayor, while the latter’s resignation, it is believed, will not be accepted by the hoard of aldermen. \
