Referring to the, rebuke offered to him by the Canadian Prime Minister, and mentioned in recent- cables, the Federal Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. S. M. Bruce, said: “I never at any time made any suggestion regarding what Canada ought to do in the matter of national defence.”
