PARK CLUB. BUTTONS MATCH. On Saturday the holders of the buttons were -able, by the narrowest margin, to -retain, their hold on the trophy, winning by one- point. Scores- were as l>elov, holders being mentioned first: Brett, Connell, Mahoney, Good von 21 v. Dillon, A. Grant. Dalle, Dlahl 20. •Several Fire Brigade rinks from New Plymouth journeyed, to Opunake on Saturday and in a- series of matches were beaten by 197 to 135.
HAWERA CLUB.
On Saturday the holders of the buttons retained their position by a margin of 10 ‘in a challenge match. The result was- as below: Holders (McDonald, Robertson, M. J. Squire, Fov, 25; challengers (Maslin, Dillon, Adamson, Bull, 15. Members of a Rapanui rink, on their way home from New Plymouth, played a game with a Hawera rink, and were beaten by four points. The scores were (Rapanui first): Willis, Somerville, T. Handley, G. Handley 19 v. Remviek, Janson, T. Hobbs, West a way 23.
