HAWKE’S BAY- RAM HAIR . HASTINGS, Jan. 29. The-Hawke's Bay ram fair was con*cludock til is morning, with the saie oi stud fains. There was a poor- demand, although a lew lines -readied--good - figures. The top price of the market was 1 1> guineas, winch was paid by the Ta]iiunu''station for a shearling Romney, sold on account of \V. Berry, and-Son,. Musterton. Tor Soutliclowiis there was a good demand, with satisfactory average prices. The highest Southdown pi ice . was 55 guineas, which was paid by J; P. Thurley, of Pukehou, for a shearling, sold on account of Mr. C. E. Vile, of Bulls. There was a very small offering of Lincolns, only two .sheep changing hands. FROZEN MEAT. Messrs Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from London, under date of the 27th inst. :“Lainb. —New Zealand prime crossbred lamb (North Island) light, new seasons 10 l-8d; heavy 9d; market weaker; poor demand. Mutton: New Zealand prime crossbred mutton (North Island) light 6-fd; heavy 5Jd. Any change in market is in favour of buyers. Moderate demand. Beef : New Zealand prime ox beef-hinds 4d; lores 3]d; quotations nominal; demand nil. Argentine chilled hinds 4d ; lores 2f*d; heavy supplies. Australian frozen meat: Good average quality crossbred lamb, light 7|d; market vreak er; poor demand. Good average quality crossbred mutton, light 4Jd.; market weak; limited* demand. Pork': Quotations, 7id to B|d; baconers 7d to 7}d; market very slow.” DAIRY PRODUCE. LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., report having 1 received the following cablegram from London, under date January 20: “Wool sales continue auimated.. Tin© slipes and hue greasy merino, change, if anyy is in favour of t>ellers. Scoured merino, irregular; greasy crossbred, rather dearer. Keen demand from Continent for good skirtings.
