EJi DORADO ART UNION. The Ed Dorado Art Union, in the profits from which the Egmont A., and P. Association shares, closes positively on Thursday next. The officials of the association are appealing to the public to support this effort to assist the finances of the association in no halfhearted manner. The association is one of the most valuable assets to the whole community and deserves all the support that can be reasonably given it. The finances urgently need strengthening, and it is a case of helping a worthy local institution with the chance of * great personal gain attached. Particulars as to the sale of tickets will be -found in the advertisement. eloumns.

Liberal prizes are being offered in connection with the art union. The first prize is £2OOO, second £SOO, and third £100; then there are three prizes of £25 each and 140 prizes of £5 each. In addition there are prizes to the sellers of winning tickets. To the seller of the first winning ticket thereis a prize of £SOO to the seller of the second winning ticket £IOO, and to the seller of the third winning ticket £25. It should be noted that the latter prizes are not available to paid officials or district agents of the art union. Should such persons sell a winning ticket the buyer will be regarded as the seller and will be allotted the additional prize.-
