EXPELLED FROM FRANCE.
FASCIST JOURNALIST DEALT WITH. „ BY GABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. PARIS, Jan. 24. The Government has. ordered, the deportation of a Fascist journalist, Canovi, who was arrested at Nice on a charge of being an Italian agent employed to incite unrest. It appears he bad dealings .with an anti-Fascist named Sacchi, with, whom the police confronted him. Canovi thereupon admitted his intention of trying to induce Sacchi to take part in a weird plot to, charter an aeroplane at Ajaccio, fly to Rome, and bomb Mussolini’s house.
The legal opinion is that no charge could he preferred against Canovi, hence the expulsion order. It is stated that the French Government is irritated hv the constantquarrels among rival Italian factions on French soil. A number of Fascist agents at rwesent in Paris and on the Riviera will lie warned to discontinue activities, or they . will be subjected to treatment similar to that dealt out to Canovi.
