DISPUTE IN QUEENSLAND. DECLARED “BLACK” GOVERNMENT BUILDING WORK. BIT CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. Received 10.50 a.m. to-day. BRISBANE, Jan. 18. A meeting of the committee of the building trade group of unions decided that all Government buildings work should be declared ‘'black,” and that the employees hand in their notices immediately. It also resolved to picket all Government works. At a meeting of Cabinet it was decided to insist on the observance of the forty-four hours’ week. It is anticipated that other building work will shortly be declared “black,” and that the trouble will extend to the transport workers. DECISION TO STRIKE DEFINITE ACTION DEFERRED. Received 10.50 a.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Jan. 19. A meeting of the Amalgamated Engineering Union passed a- resolution in favour of a strike with the object of forcing the employers to grant full wages for a 44-hours’, week, but for tlie present left the matter in the hands of the district committee.
