CHRISTCHURCH BY-LAWS

DOUBLE-HAN KING PROHIBITED. In Christchurch the following bylaws are now in force: Double-banking on motor-cycles and push-bicycles is prohibited, except the carrying of a child under three years of age on a proper seat or chair. Lights on vehicles: It is made an offence for a vehicle to carry a red light visible from in front which might be mistaken for a tail-light. Speed across intersections and round corners raised from eight to twelve miles per hour . The load on a vehicle must not extend more than three inches outside the lines of the hub caps.

It is made an offence for a person to refuse to give his name and address 'when required to do so by an inspector or police constable. The council is given additional power for dealing with drivers’ licenses. The maximum iienaltv for a breach ol a by-law is £2o,'the same as previously. -
