Received 10.5 a.m. to-day. LONDON, Dec. 17, The first divorce case reported under the new Act has been heard. The newspapers published the addresses and names of the parties, iilie grounds for the application, the fact that the respondent and co-respondent denied the charges, that evidence was given by the petitioner and other witnesses, and that the hearing was adjourned. The judge, in summing up, tells the full story, which can lie reported. The charges and counter-charges are not reportable unless evidence is given in support. The pubieation of any forensic joke by either bench or bar is apparently unlawful, also the description of the correspondence, or the clothes which the parties are wearing.
