WORKED ON SUNDAY.

MOTOR SALESMAN CONVICTED. (by TELEGRAPH—press association.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 15. Motor-car salesmen who demonstrate with cars on Sunday are breaking the law, and are therefore liable to a fine. Such is the ruling of Air Page, S.M., in his reserved judgment given to-day. John Burns, a motor salesman, was charged with working at his trade on Sunday. Air Page said that the defendant had been demonstrating with a car with the intention of selling it. The onus was on him to prove that this was not so. A fine of £2 together with costs was imposed.
