AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
• NOTES AN O COMMENTS. A team of Hawera athletes will journey to Wanganui on Saturday to compete at the' evening carnival in that city. The personnel of the team is: C. Griffin, the Stoning brothers, A. Newall, and G. 11. Weir. On New Year’s Day the syorts programme at Waitotara Amateur Athletic Club will include two cycle events. The club’s original posters did not contain notification to this effect, Entries for the Patea meeting close this evening. It is understood that Hawera is sending strong contingents to both the Patea and Waitotara Bports. Entries for Hawera Club championships will close this evening. Already good nominations have been received.
