ELTHAM LIBRARY.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Eltham Public Library Committee was attended by Messrs H. G. McDonald (chairman), A. Chrystal, F. H. Townsend, R, H. Gover, E. L. Egarr (secretary), and Mesdames Gover and "Wilson. Apologies were received from Mrs Syme and Mr I. J. Bridger. Mrs W. R. Prideaux (librarian) reported for the past month as follows: Seventeen new books have been added, and all have proved exceptionally popular. One new subscriber has joined, one has resigned, and the total number of subscribers is now 92. The librarian suggested that the library be washed with disinfectant during the holidays. Mr Townsend considered that the library should be regularly attended to. and moved that the secretary apnly to the- Town Clerk with a view to having the cleaning done hv the caretaker. —Carried. On the motion of the chairman and Mr Chrystal the- secretary was instructed to write to subscribers whose accounts were over a month overdue, reminding, them that the committee was in need of funds for new books. Accounts amounting to £6 17s 4,d were passed for payment.
