IMPORTS INTO GREAT BRITAIN. THE DOMINION’S POSITION. Weddel’s annual review gives very interesting particulars of the imports of dairy produce into the United Kingdom. The figures for the> year up to June 30, 1926. are given in greater detail than those for the previous year. Furthermore, for the period up o June 30, 1925, the data applies to imports into tlie United Kingdom, vhile in 1926, it is .specified that the Wish liee State also- is included. Tilts gives a butter total of 2/7,898 tons for 1924-25 against 278,392 tons in the succeeding year. Australia and New Zealand, the largest suppliers ot the Home market after Denmark, had shown a considerable shrinkage. Though Danish increased, the most notable feature of the year's, dairy operations has been the entry of the northern European countries, whose output has increased enormously within 12 months. A review of the fluctuation of the amounts of butter imported into the United Kingdom (excluding the Irish Free State) for the past ten years give the following comparative figures: — 1917 1926 Tons.
