REDUCTION IN PROPORTION. ;nv TM.KMItAPU FUiiSS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 13. An amendment to the Wellington electrical apprentices’ order was filed to-day in the Arbitration Court. His Honojjr Mr Justice Frazer, in a memorandum, stated that the court bad amended the order so as to effect a gradual reduction in the proportion of apprentices with a view to preventing the trade from being overcrowded. The court was of the opinion that by. the time the present apprentices had completed their Warning the number of journeymen would be sufficient to meet the requirements of the trade, and that for the future a proportion of one to two would be sufficient to allow for wastage and expansion of trade. The decision to reduce the proportion was that of the majority. Mr Scott being unable to concur.
