GENERAL HERTZOG’S BILLS. CONDEMNED BY BISHOPS. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Received 11.15 a.m to-day. CAPETOWN, Dec. 2. The bishops of the Anglican Church have issued a statement condemning General Hertzog’s native bills as aimed at upholding white civilisation at the expense of the native peoples, and inspired by the whites’ fear of the black man, and as inconsistent with the principles which might govern legislation affecting native races.
