Coates will probably sail in the first week of January. lii the meanwhile he is enquiring into railway fuel economies adaptable to New Zealand. He goes to France next week, visits the battlefields and unveils several New Zealand memorials. When in Paris he presents the French Rugby Federation with a shield on behalf of the Maoris. Later he visits Ireland to receive the honorary Doctorship of Laws at Dublin.
