ROSE TO RUN AT HAWERA. LETTER OF CONFIRMATION RECEIVED. Writing in a letter received to-day by the secretary of the Hawera Amateur Athletic Club, Mr G. H. Weir, Randolph Rose, the Masterton long distance crack, confirms his intention ■to run at Hawera at the carnival to be held on show night, November 24. In the course of his letter, he states that he would prefer that the programme were so arranged as to place the half-mile early, and the mile late in the evening. Replying to Mr Weir’s request for performances, Rose says: "I have not yet run a half-mile (presumably this season), but I hope to get near two minutes in a fortnight.” Competitors are reminded that entries for the show night carnival close ; definitely on Wednesday evening next.
