TAIiANAKI-WANGAN Ul 'DISTRICT SYNOD.
Tlio annual meeting of the TaranakiW anganui District Synod of tne Aletnoclist C'jnii'fJi will be held tins year in Wnileley Memorial Church, .New Plymouth.. The first session takes place on Tuesday, November 2d, at 10 a.m., when the ministerial committee meets. At 7.39 p.m. the Synod meets as a District Home Missions Committee. on Wednesday, November 24, the representative session of the Synod opens at 9.30 a.in. tinder the piesidenc-y of the Rev \V. .J. Qxbrow (Hawera), chairman 01 the district, who will conduct communion service, assisted by several of the ministerial members of the Synod. An address will lie given by the Rev. A. E. Jelierson (Alarton). A welcome to the visiting delegates will be extended by the Mayor of New Plymouth (Mr. F. E. Wiison) on behalf of the citizens at 11 a.m., and on behalf of the local Methodists by Air. C. E. Bellringer, M.P. Air J£. Dixon (Hawera) will acknowledge the welcome (Tie business session will be continued in the afternoon. In the evening a. musical festival service will be held in Whiteley Church. The business session of the Synod Will be concluded on Thursday morning at 9.30.
The representatives to the Synod include io ministers, six home missionaries. one deaconer, one candidate for tne ministry, and 31 lay representatives. There will be present at the S.-.nod as visitors the Rev. E. P. Bland res, general secretary of the Young People's Department, and the Rev. J. OocKcr, secretary of the ALasterton chi Wren's Ho me.— H era Id.
