LOCAL MARKET REPORT’ The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society reports as follows: At Haivera oil Tliursduy we had an exceptionally heavy yarding of both fat and store cattle; there was also a large snt-rv of pigs and a tew dairy cattle and sheep. There was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district and bidding was brisk throughout. 'The market still shows a strong demand for good store cattle, but fat stock have a tendency to fall off slightly. The following is a range of prices. Heavy fat cows £9 to £l4 2s thL light fat cows and heifers £7 to £8 15s. fat bullocks £ll to £l2 10s, fat heifers T'S good paddock cows £5 to £6 ss, good store cows £4 5s to £5. boners £2 to £3 12s 6d, can tiers 15s to 27s od, three-year-old empty Hereford and P.A. heifers £4 (is 6d, two-year-old steers £4 10s three and four-year-old bullocks £6 to fir 7s 6d, yearling Jersey heifers £3 6s to £3 15s, sound Jersey bulls £7 to £ll, best dairy heifers (close to profit and calved) £7 5s to £8 10s, others £4 10s to £7. At Waveriey on Friday we submitted a good yarding of all classes of fat and store cattle to a good attendance of buyers. Bidding was good throughout and-a good sale resulted.
