SHORTAGE OF VEGETABLES
POTATOES REACH £25 PER- TON. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION -COPYRIGHT. Received 12.35 p.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Nov. 13. Following on a shortage of green vegetables, a serious scarcity of potatoes is threatened. Prime old season s Tasmanians are commanding £25 per ton, the highest price for years. Last year the highest price was £2O. Experienced agents express the opinion that the scarcity will last well into December. The prospects for the new seasons crop are not bright.
