TRAMWA.YMEiN IN CONFERENCE. (,B V TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 2. The annual conference of the New Zealand Federated 'Tramways Association met this morning, delegates attending from Auckland, Wanganui, Christchurch, Dunedin, Napier and New Plymouth. Mr. VV. J. Rogers (Wanganui) presided. Committees were set up to bring down reports on the matters to- be considered by the conference, which then adjourned till this afternoon. '[The main issue to be dealt with is the question of a national agreement. CYCLIST CHAMPION TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND. WELLINGTON, Nov. 2. A cablegram ha 3 been received stating that It. W. Lamb, the Australian amateur cyclist, has accepted the invitation of the Wellington centre of the N.Z.A.A.A. to visit New Zealand this season. He will appear in Wellington and Canterbury districts and probably elsewhere. A SAFE ROBBED. AUCKLAND, Nov. 2. Late on Sunday night a safe at Mount Elden railway station was blown open, gelignite being exploded in -the keyhole. About, -six pounds in cash were stolen. An entry to- the -station was obtained by breaking the glass in a window.
