This was unfortunate, for the drying winds of the past few days had worked a great improvement, and had the weather held good it was intended to open the tan track, but this had to be abandoned. As only could ho expected, the work was not particularly interesting, short sprints at halfpace being the rule. So far few outside horses are at Trentham, and visitors are not expected until the end of the week.

Star Ranger galloped a mile in 1.56. Jubilance, which jumped away at the five furlong post, ran the distance in 1.14:. Tone ran down from the three furlong nost in 40sec, his stablemate Panther taking ssec longer. Indian Sage trotted and cantered, with a sprint home down the straight. He looks particularly well. Bourse galloped half a mile in 55sec, with Assert beaten off.

Laughing Prince and Exhibition were not extended when running half a mile in 56 2-ssee. Frenzied Finance and Modern sprinted half a mile in 55sec. Priceless did steady work, and Tanadees. whose near foreleg is under treatment, was restricted to three-qunrter-uace work. _ Orchid was given strong work, with an occasional short sprint, and looks well. • , Grand Knight did two rounds, or steadv trotting on the sand, hitting out free|v. He appears to be quite so’md and well. Nadarino just pottered about, and had an easy task. Degage, without being asked to djr his best, strode seven furlongs in 1.45,

going particularly well throughout a good piece of work. Gluement and Gauntlet were together in good pace work. Inoe galloped five furlongs on the sand. Arrivals at Trentham are Royal Lineage and Comedic.
