ATTEMPT TO COMMIT SUICIDE.

Charles Register (has .been admitted to the Wairau Hospital .suffering from a deep wound dp his. throat, caused by an attempt to. commit suicide. Register, who resides, in Maxwell Road with has son .and daughter, aged 12 and 15 years respectively, lost his wife three or four yeansi ago, and he bias, for a long time, been extremely depressed and woirired. He was also .suffering from i.ll-bealtb. He was an inmate of the hospital until a, few' days ago. Almost immediately after recommencing work he was again incapacitated through injury to hisi finger. His condition is not regarded as serious. FARMHAND CUTS HIS THROAT. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct, 11. Before taking his breakfast on Saturday, Thomas MeLennon. (40), a farm hand and a hospital patient, insisted on making his will, as he said he. might be poisoned. About midday he. cut his throat, dying later. At the inquest it was stated that the deceased was often known as John Clark. He had relatives at Malieno, Otago. He. suffered from depression. The inquest was adjourned. YOUNG MAN MISSING. AUCKLAND, Oct, 11. William Bagnell (28), a resident of Arch Hill, has been reported missing since .Saturday afternoon.
BOY MIGRANTS. AUCKLAND, Oct. 11. The Hororata, this morning brought 31 boys under the Church of England immigration scheme. This is the second party of the kind. The ages range from 15 to 21 years. They have had a publics .school tuition and for the next two years will be under the direction of the Church of England.
