ILLEGAL USE OF A OAR. (by TELEGRAPB —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 9. Walter Edward Love, aged 19, on, a charge of having converted 1 a cur, the property of K. N. Pelt, to his own use, was sentenced to two years’ Borstal detention. The oecused drove to Point Chevalier and' there collided with a car driven by Dr. Drury. Both cars were slightly damaged. The accused had several previous convictions. SENT TO BORSTAL INSTITUTE. WELLINGTON, Oct, 8. Joseph John Patterson, aged 16 years, an escapee on several occasions from the Weraroa Training Farm, was sentenced by Mr E. Page, S.M., to three years’ confinement in a Borstal institution for the theft of a bicycle at Wellington which he threw over Pipitea. wharf.
On other charges of committing damage, lig was ordered 1 to come up for sentence when called upon.
