BOYS’ AND GIRLS’ CLUBS.

PREPARATION WORK,

The work of the Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs annually is very satisfactory, and this year the entries are better than ever amongst the junior members. And in addition there is a fair number entered in the seniors. The grand total of entries in all classes, root-growing and calf-rearing, is 514 in the juniors and 23 in the seniors. It is good to see that a certain number are carrying on after school days. The amount of detail work in connection with tlie supply of seeds, standard manure and Kainit is very considerable in addition to communicating with the school teachers and supervisors, and this all falls on the shoulders of Mr A. J. Glassou, of the Agricultural Department. It will be of interest to know that close on two tons of manure is required for suply to the competitors. .
