EX-MEMBER OF BOARD GIVES EVIDENCE. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 6. Evidence was given at the Seddon College inquiry to-day by ,Mr James Purtell. a former member of the College Board, He said there was no doubt that those teachers who did not agree with Mr Park (the Director) were subjected to persectuion, and that Mr Park had favoured his own friends in making new appointments. A whole contingent had come from Wanganui, where apparently all the best, teachers were to be found.

The Commission adjourned until to morrow.
