MANGATOKI.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Under ideal weather conditions- for the purpose the fishing season commenced on Friday, when many anglers fished in the various, streams. Among the enthusiasts who reported that the fish were in good condition were Messrs J. P. Marx with a catch of five, K. Marx eight, and E. Colson three. These, however, were under the. average catches of last season. During the past week the settlers have experienced’ wonderful weather for growing purposes, and, as farmers say, “the. grass can almost be seen growing.” No doubt this will provide a good start- for a successful milking .season.

Mrs O. H. Marx is progressing towards recovery after a second operation in- hospital. Mr H. Clarke is home again after being in hospital for a- few days.
