• ♦ ; HOLIDAY ON DOMINION DAY. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. At last night’s meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, a complaint was made that the banks were closed on Dominion Day, to the great hindrance of 'business. One speaker described Dominion Day as “a frivolous thing.’’ It was decided to refer the matter to the next conference of the associated chambers. ; UNSUCCESSFUL SEARCH OTAKI, Sept. 29. Rumours were prevalent last /night that the body of Mr. Reid, who .has been missing, for over a week, had been, found in Otaki gorge. Constable Satln erley searched in vain, while, further parties searched ito-day without sue-1 cess.
