ADMINISTRATIVE WORK.
GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING
The genera! committee of the Egmont A. and P. Association met at Hawera on Saturday. There were present: Messrs S. C. Tonks (president), R. McCav, E. A. AYasher, AY. McL’Dowie, J. S. Short, H. E. Johnson, F. Tilley, C. H. Washer, J. T. Salmon, D. Crocker, B. C. Lvsaght,. A. Lankow, A. J. Haseltine, J. Forbes. G. AY. Stubbs, and J. lverrisk, junr. An apology for absence was received from Mr N. Crocker. A letter was received: from the Hawera Amateur Athletic Club asking the association to meet a sub-committee from the club to go into the matter of resurveving the running track of the association’s ground, which it was desired should be 440 yards instead of 466 yards as at present.-—The president, reported that the club’s -sub-commtitee had been informed, the survey could) be made. The club also requested the use of the committee room for the purpose of holding monthly meetings, the first to he held on AYednesday. October 6. Permission was granted, subject to a nominal charge. The programme of, dates l of sports meetings (previously published) submitted bv the club was approved. ■SHOW OFFICIALS.

Forbes of a pony for a- weight-guessing competition was accepted, a vote of thanks to Air Forbes being carried by acclamation. Resignations were received from Air E. J. Stanford (Pa-tea), owing to departure from the district, and Air A. Stead (Hawera). New members elected were : Messrs A\ T . Ramsay (Hawera) and F. J. Bilton (Hawera). , A schedule of the excursion train arrangements on November 23, 25 and 28 for the coming show was received from the Railway Department. The president reported that an inspection of the grounds had revealed everything in order. . The committee had decided to provide gratings in 15 of the pig liens.
