THE FARMERS’ CO-OP. SOCIETY

The Farmers’- Co-op. Society reports as follows:

At Oka-iawa we had a medium yarding of all classes of cattle, and a very satisfactory clearance was made. Fat cows £7 to £8 12s 6d, boners £2‘2s to £3 ss, canners £1 to £1 12s 6d, sound Jersey bull £6 15s, best dairy heifers £0 to £ll, medium do. £G to £B, late and backward sorts £5, calved heifers to £6 15s. At our usual Hawera sale a full yarding of all stock was .submitted to a good attendance of buyers. Fat stock was in strong demand, and a small line of prime cows .sold on account of Mr C. J. Hawken. realised £l3 11s per head and fell to the bid of Mr J. Scott, of Nga-ere. In the dairy pens the stock was not. up to the usual standard, but nevertheless a good sale resulted. At Waver’ey on Thursday we had a good yarding of all stock, and a very good sale resulted. Fat bullocks £l3, fr>fc cows £7 to £8 10s. fat heifer® £7 10s, forward cows £6 6s to £6 Us, store cows £2 10s to £4, canners 15s to 255. fat ewes 2.55, fat and forward wethers 28s 9d, fat wethers 325, cull hoggets 8s to 13s 9d. B.F. 21s 6d to 19s, weaner pigs 15s to 17s, 'large stores 35s to £2, sows £3, best dairy heifers' £7 to £9 10s. others £5 to £6 15s, dairy cows £6 15s to £7 10s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Hawera branch, reports as follows: — At Opunake.' on the 13th inst., we held our fortnightly sale, when a good yarding of all classes of store and dairy cattle was sold under the hammer at satisfactory prices. We quote.: Forward cows, £3 6s to £4 15s; store cows, £2 5s to £3; aged cows, £1 to £1 15s; 2-year Shorthorn and Holstein ateres- (good), £5 2s; medium, springing heifers, £6 to £7; backward and inferior sorts, £4 to £5 10s; store pigs to £1 ICs Gd. T r At our Palmer Road sale on the 17th inst., a small yarding of store cattle and a good yarding of quality dairy heifers were penned. The heifers sold at good- prices, and bidding was very keen.
