CONTROL OF INDUSTRY.
CONTINENTAL “IRON PACT.”
8Y CABLE—PRSSB ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT GENEVA, Sept. 15. Herr Stresenrann, when interviewed by British journalists, described the “iron pact” between France, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium as the biggest even in the modern economic history of Europe. , . : It' was intended that Britain should join, but the British industrialists had hot thought fit to participate «t .present. They might come ani later. Herr Rtresemann emphasised! the fact that the pact could not, and would not, be directed against any country. It was necessary owing to the non-eoonomic frontiers' that such agreements should be the peacemakers for political agreements. It was an important step toward the suppression of frontier- difficulties and unnecessary competition, and encouraged international co-opera-tion. !
