NEW TRIAL REFUSED. (by telegraph—press association.) DUNEDIN, .Sept. 14. Mr Justice Sim refused the .application of Geo. McKay Polworth and Sidney Harris, who were! 'sentenced in tlie May session® fort robbery with violence and theft, for a new trial, on the ground that the verdict was against the weight of the evidence. SENTENCES' AT DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, Sept. 14. At the Supreme Court, Leslie Pearce (22) and Joseph Muldownie (22), breaking entering, were each, sentenced to three years’ • reformative treatment. Brace Irnrie (24), for breaking and entering, received three years’probation.
