Tile famous Marquis, a hard spring wheat, which holds the world’s record for early ripening, is likely io> be superseded by a, new variety called Betward, now under tests at a Government experimental farm. According to tests, it ripens ten days earlier than the Marquis, has equally good mili'ling qualities, and gives heavier yields. Measured bushels weigh as high as 66 lbs.
