CINCINNATI, Aug. 14. Scott Warden -drank freely last night of “moonshine” liquor and killed his wife. He then turned seven of his nine children out of the house.

They complained to the police, who set out to arrest him, but AVardon repulsed them with a gun. Two detectives were wounded and the others returned with a posse, 100 strong. AA r arden held his baby in his arms for several hours, thus preventing the police shooting him.

Frequently he taunted the police, calling out: “Sure, I killed my wife, and I will kill these babips if you shoot.”

A dozen officers covered him with their revolvers till finaly, in a momentary lapse, he laid his child down, and they riddled him with bullets.
