A Rugby League match for possession of the Northern Union Cup, held hv Auekfiftid, was played to-day. Canterbury were the challengers. Within a minute of opening the play Payne scored for Auckland. The game was all Canterbury’s for the next ten minutes. The southerners repeatedly got the ball from the scrums, but the tackling Avas too deadly to enable the Reels to turn them to account.
