STEAMER CAPSIZES
AT MOUTH OF HOOGHLY INDIAN PEASANTS SUFFER ONE HUNDRED DEATHS FEARED. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT. DELHI, Aug. 26. It is feared that nearly 100 lives have been, lost as the result of a feiiy boat disaster at the mouth of the Hooghlv. The - vessel capsized, and after being buffetted by 7 wind and waves the vessel broke in two. The passengers and cattle which she was carrying were carried away by the force of the current, but a. few survivors reached the Noakhali coast. Ail casualties are among the Indian peasants. Forty more than hitherto reported survived the boat disaster.
